Not So Wonderful Tuesday

Gray Clouds:

Yesterday was a long day. I woke up knowing I had to go to work after a wonderful 4 day weekend. Work was super busy the minute I arrived, and at about 11:30, I had to leave for a doctor's appointment. Why on earth must a simple check up take nearly 2 1/2 hours??? I was gone till about 2 o'clock. So when I got back, I wasn't too jazzed about missing that much work. And I wasn't feeling all that well from the doctor visit. And as a bonus, work was just as busy as when I left.

When 5 o'clock finally rolled around, I was out of the office so fast. I started my 10 minute commute home and called Allen on the way. He seemed slightly irritated by something. So I asked him what was wrong. Yesterday Allen was let go from his job. We got off the phone pretty quickly and I just broke down. Haha, my really long Tuesday had just gotten worse. But, Allen already had a game plan. When I walked in the door he was in a shirt and tie and getting ready to go turn in resume's.

I really do not like stressing about finances. But then again, who does? But we'll be ok. We both feel that this might be a good thing. And a good friend of ours, who claims to be an "eternal optimist," says that this might just be the best thing for us. She said, "Maybe the right job for Allen is hiring right now and that's why he was let go from this last job. It needed to happen to get you two looking for jobs again." I'm going to put my faith in those statements. :) Allen and I both know we'll be ok. And if we work diligently and keep faith and pray daily, we'll pull ourselves out of this little gray cloud too.

Little Ray of Sunshine:

So in response to Allen's let-go yesterday, he and I have worked double time on trying to find him a job. I got into work this morning applying to every job possible for him, with the aid of a friend of mine also searching for jobs. I updated his resume', he came in, I gave him a list of places to go pick up an application from, and I continued searching. We have actually had some feedback already. He has an interview today. One tomorrow morning. And a couple more potential interviews. We'll see what happens! So, with only being job less one day, he has made a lot of progress towards getting another job. I'm very proud of him. We make a good team. :) So things are already looking up. Just keep a postive attitude and things will be ok. I quote one of my favorite characters, Dori from "Nemo," "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming...What do we do? We SWIM, SWIM, SWIMMMMM!"

:)
