This past week, Allen and I spent our time in New York with his family. It was quite the adventure. We left on a midnight flight, Friday April 10th and arrived back home around 8pm Saturday April 18th.
We enjoyed many things on this trip. From meeting people from Drew's mission, to seeing all the neon lights Times Square has to offer, we were busy from the moment we arrived. We did the typical tourist stuff: Empire State Building, Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History(the one from "Night at the Museum"), Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We hit up Canal Street where the shopping can't be beat. Knock off purses at killer prices...Who could ask for more? haha! I invested in a couple of purses myself! :) We shopped till we almost literally dropped.
Central Park, I must say, is as gorgeous as the movies make it out to be. It's HUGE and colorful. Oh, and guess who we saw right in the middle of the park! Heidi Klum and Seal! Exciting for sure!
On Wednesday of last week, we were fortunate enough to go and see the musical "Wicked" on Broadway. I will admit, I'm not that into musicals. But seeing this show has totally changed my mind. It was wonderful and entertaining! And now I have the desire to go and see any shows that I can! My eyes have been opened to the world of musicals. :)
Overall, the New York experience was SO much fun. I'd love to visit again. However, I don't think I could personally handle all the hustle and bustle of LIVING in a city like that. I'm happy with my calm and quiet Utah. :)
